cookbook

My sister in law Kelly, posted a blog a while ago about cookbook cleanup. (click on it for more details) So I did the same. I found 3x5 photo slip covers at staples and took my regular 8x10 slip covers and made my own cook book of recipes. Can i just say, it has made my life soo much easier. I just finished putting a cover page on it today so I know which way is up so I dont dump my extra recipe cards out everytime I grab it upside down. lol

Girlfriends

And so it begins......

Carter has had a "girlfriend" since he was 2 months old. Our friends had a little girl 2 months after Carter was born, and we would always hang out and tease about them gettting married and being boyfriend /girlfriend. Her name is Kaysia, and we miss her alot.

The teacher at Carters school told me the other day that a girl in his class kissed Carter. I asked him why she did that and he said " cuz I didnt want her to! " lol

Her name is Jolissa and she has a younger sister named Alayna.

Jolissa's mom told me that jolissa came home from school one day and said that Carter told her he liked her better without her glasses, so she said she would be willing not to wear them anymore for him. she is in love with him.

They came and played today at our house and after they left Carter said " I really like Jolissa she is soo cute and soo nice, I wish she lived with us."

Does anyone else see the similarities in his girlfriends.?? (the girl on the far right in the pic above isnt one of them) just Kaysia and Jolissa are.

The picture below is a burnt breadstick. How did this happen? well.........
I showed Carter how to pop popcorn in the microwave by pushing one button that says popcorn on it. Sometimes with my supervision i let him push something for 10 seconds. the other night he wanted to warm up his own breadstick....... FOR 10 MINUTES!!! Tim looked into the kitchen and didnt even see CArter cuz there was soo much smoke in there. it has been a few days and the smell is still in our house, even after cleaining out the microwave. lol

New Car

With Gas prices through the roof, we decided to trade in our Chevy TAhoe for a Toyota Camry. I have always wanted a camry since before I could even drive. They are sleek looking cars. And now I know that they are smooth rides as well.
Through Tims work he was able to get us 0% on a 3 year lease on a brand new Camry!! I love it!
The best feature on this car is not only does it flash the seatbelt signal but it beeps for about 30 seconds if your car is in drive and you dont have your seatbelt on, or if you take it off. I have to admit I was not the best at remembering my seatbelt. Not wearing a seatbels can become a deadly habit, so I am grateful for the reminder. ( Tim is too,now he wont have to worry whether or not I am wearing it)

Navajo TAco's come at a price :)

So for a while now , I have been looking for a good Navajo TAco recipe. we used to have them in Elementary school, and I loved them. Theres was like a pan baked flat bread, I dont know it was just yummy. so I was soo happy when my friend Esther posted a recipe for Navajo TAco Bread . So inbetween Conference sessions today I was making some.
My kitchen was a mess, from all the baking I have been doing in the past few days, so my Dear Husband was cleaning up while I cooked. He went to move some of the clutter around my skillet and some how it got pulled off the counter and splashed hot oil onto my thigh as I was scooting out of the way.
I kinda stood there trying to pull my pants away from my skin kinda in a daze. Tim looked at me and said take that off hurry! Luckily I was wearing a long shirt so that I didnt have to moon my 4 year old son. ;)
I am not going to lie, it hurt pretty dang bad, I just kept putting a cool wash cloth on it. while doing that I remembered that I hadnt showered yet today and needed to before we went over to friends for dinner :( I wasnt looking forward to that.
here it is about an hour after it happened.

I am grateful that Haven was up in her highchair and not at my feet like normal and Carter wasnt in the room when this happened. Just a reminder to be sooo sooo careful when cooking and kids are around.

MoNsTeR TrUcK

There was a montstor truck show in town this weekend. And since Tims work (Ressler Motors) sponsered soo much of it, they brought a montstor truck and parked it on the lot for the day.

they were giving away pit passes at his work, NO offense to anyone who has ever been to a monster truck rally and even enjoyed it, but Tim said it brought every red neck in the county out to his lot. unfortunately non of them wanting to buy a car. lol

In fact I would like to have taken Carter to see the show , but the ticket people said they charge full price for everyone including children of every age , to discourage people from bringing little kids because it is soo loud. but we did get to go see it before they loaded it up at Tims work and got to hear its engine.

Oh and I almost forgot. for those of you who know about the movie Transformers. Tims work got a "iron hide" on their lot and his brother actually sold it to a really rich guy who bought it just because no one else would have one. lol Carter had to get a picture by it. In the movie he is black so we told him this one was iron hides gray brother. :)

OH yeah and here I made CArter stand sideways to show off he sweet mohawk. He has been requesting them alot lately since one day I just made him let me try and make his hair stand up. his hair is stick straight and lays forward, and wont even spike without hair gel and the blow dryer.
