Car seat safety

Just the other day I was th inking about my kids' car seats. I have always wanted to get them checked by a certified person. so I visited t his website http://www.seatcheck.org/ and easily looked up the representative that lived in my town. ( she is the only one in my town, she lost her 4 month old baby in a rollover car accident 7 years ago. Her baby was in an evenflo carseat without the base and the hook the belt is ment to go through broke!, fyi she just recently sued evenflo for 10 million dollars) but anyways. I encourage everyone to do this. she showed me sooo many things I was doing wrong with my carseat and booster. She showed me , and then installed my car seats tightly. and I thought I had mine tight but not enough. I also had towells under the seats, that she said not to use because it causes too much slipping. and those strap covers in the picture above, I was told to remove those because they cause the belt to not be as tight as it is supposed to be. she told me anything that is considered and "after market" add on , is not tested so it isnt deemed safe.
If you never have done this, please do it, you may be surprised at the things you are doing wrong. I was.

Birthday Boy

1 for the money , 2 to for the show, 3 to get ready and 4 to go!!!!

Carter is 4 today!!

I got to go to school with him, and read the kids 3 of Carters favorite books for his Birthday. It was alot of fun.

Then we had a birthday party with a few of his friends. they decorated their own cakes and played a few games and then rode bikes outside. fun was had by all. even Haven with her party hat.

.....First Day of Preschool cont.....

When I went to pick up Carter from school, he was outside playing baseball catch with his teacher and a few other kids, it was soo fun to see him interacting with everyone. I asked him if he was ready to go and he said "no thanks" He had a great time at school, he is soo excited to go again. The teacher told me that he is a little dancer... they brought out the song from Madagascar " I like to MOve it Move it" and he was getting down, doing a little break dance even. The teachers really enjoyed getting to see his personality also.

As you can see in the picture, school and probably waking up early tired him out. he sat on the couch and crashed.

First day of preschool !

Today was Carters first day of preschool. Dropping him off made me really realize how much he has grown up, and made me a little teary eyed. I am excited to watch him develop and learn.

Even though we had to wake up almost 2 hours before normal we both were feeling good this morning. Carter was soo excited. This morning when he got up I asked him if he needed to use the restroom he said "no thanks, but do they have bafrooms there?? " LOL.

As we walked into the classroom his eyes widened and he got a smile on his face looking at all the fun things there were to do. I gave him a hug and told him I would be back after lunch and to my surprise he said ok bye. I am soo proud of my little boy, for being so brave to go to a new place and not worry that I wasn't staying. Although I would have liked to stay and watch him, he needs time to adjust without me, maybe later in the month I will go and check out his class. At his school, parents are ancouraged to stop in and hang out, it is such a good program.

To move or not to Move......

I need some help deciding wether or not to move over

to Bozeman, which is where Tim works.

Reasons to stay in Livingston

• Carter just got into headstart preschool. there is one in bozeman but we would have to get on the wait list which could take 1 day or 3 months to get into.
• our rent is cheap.. however when our heater turns on it blows smoke smell thick into out house because of our neighbor in the other side of the duplex!! and we have so many hobo spiders that is really freaks me out, seriously we catch 10 a week.
• I do have 2 friends that live in or around Livingston. I am sure they would still visit me in bozeman but I am not sure how much.
• Tim is on the city league basketball team here. but there is a church basketball season that they play at the stake center in bozeman too. basketball is extremely important to Tim, it is his release and is good exercise for him. driving over here 2 times a week for games would kinda defeat the purpose of moving.
• livingston does have a nice park, it is huge . but bozeman has parks too, just not as huge and right by the yellowstone river.

Reasons to move to Bozeman (bozeman is 30 miles away from livingston, about a 25 min. drive,.... in nice weather)

• Tim would not have to commute to and from work.... which the commute can get scary in the winter sometimes. plus it costs gas money. The rent is more expensive over there, but the money we are spending in gas could go toward more rent so it would equal out.
• Bozeman has a "mall" a small one but it has one. it is a bigger city so it has more conveniences like wal-mart and a Childrens museum.
• get away from livingston ward drama, seriously our church up here has way too much drama, alot of old people set in their ways. bozeman has a college ward and younger families.
• Tim could come home for lunch which saves money and allows me to see him more, cuz he works alot of hours!!
• more things to do with the kids: museums, gymnastics,swimming pool indoors, splash park, bozeman beach.
• I would be a half hour closer to you all in Utah :) ha ha ha
• I do want to move to Bozeman but I dont want to make a bad decision.

Haven

~Haven~

I was truly blessed with her sweet spirit. she so far has lived up to the definition of her name, she has such a calm energy. I got soo lucky to have a boy and a girl.

Haven has always been a happy girl. In fact she just learned how to laugh, it doesnt happen a whole lot yet, but when it does it melts my heart.

There is no doubt she already has Daddy wrapped right around her little finger.... which means more shopping for us :)j/k

I always knew I would love having a girl to dress up in cute little outfits. she doesnt have alot of hair up top so thankfully my friend Mellisa made her some cute head band bows!

On her blessing day she was blessed that she and I would have a warm and special relationship. I am so excited to get to know my little Haven as she grows and have many special memories.
