Great finds

I got lucky enough to find some really great deals this weekend. I thought I would share. JCPenny was having a 75% off sale. I got shirts for the kids to wear next year for under $2 a piece! I found myself a new bedspread. I dont know if the pictures do it justice. It is baby blue with different colors of browns and tans. It matches both sets of sheets that I own and the pillow cases I already had. which is nice. Here Carter is pretending to sleep on the comfy new bed set.

I also found a little black dress. Its not the best picture of it, I just wanted to show you it has some silver studs at the neckline that add a little somthing to it. it is like an already wrapped wrap dress :) And for once it looks better on me than on the hanger. ( thanks for the reminder/idea of a wrap dress Kelly)

Kid Update

AS per the request of my mom. Here are some updated pictures of my kids. Haven is 7 and a half months old now. She is eating really well. Better than Carter ever did. She even likes to feed herself finger food already and can drink from a regular cup, sippy cup and even a straw.



Carter is into playing games, video games, and this one is called Elefun, it shoots butterflies out its nose and you have to catcht hem with your net. Carter got the missionaries to play too. Carter was calling them cheaters everytime they got a butterfly, but it was all in good fun. (oops my bad. I teasingly called Tim a cheater when we played this game the night before)


Carter and Haven have always been good buddies. No one can make Haven laugh the way Carter can. Carter thinks it is cool that she can hang out with him a little more now that she is getting older.

I made him a standing stegasaurus, standingT-rex, flat Pteranadon, and Triceratops head.

2 Great ReCiPe's

White Chicken Chili
1 Tbl. Oil
1/2 med.onion choppped (finely)
2 cloves minced garlic
1 can great northern beans
1 can baby butter beans ( if not available can use navy beans)
3 cups chicken broth
1 11oz can white shoepeg corn ( or yellow kernel corn unsweetened)
2 Tbl. chopped cilantro
2 Tbl. lime juice
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp Dried oregano
1/2 tsp. tabasco sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
2-3 Chicken breast. ( i boil mine, then shred or chop them up)

Heat oil in pot cook onion and garlic til tender.
stir in remaining ingredients except chicken
heat to boiling, then simmer med/lo
then add ch icken... simmer 5 more minutes then serve
can add any type of cheese you like on the top.


Tetranzini
8 oz. fetuccini or thin spaghetti noodles - cooked
2Tbl Butter
3tbl. flour
2 1/2 C. milk
1/2 C. grated or shreded parmesan
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Melt butter in saucepan on med. heat then add flour and stir
slowly add milk stirring until lumps are gone.
cook until slightly thick and bubbly- cook 1 min more
remove from heat and stir in cheese and salt and pepper.
toss 1/2 sauce w/ pasta put in baking dish. pour rest of sauce over, and sprinkle with more parmesan.
you can add cooked chicken or turkey or any veggies you like , just toss with the noodles and sauce.

bake for 15 min 400 degrees.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. ....Tim was home from work, that was my favorite part.

Carter was really excited for Santa Clause to come this year. In the morning we discovered that santa left his footprints on our door matt ;)

Carter got some Transformers and a couple of robots that he wanted.

Haven got a Carebear and a cool toy, but of course loved the wrapping paper most ofall!

Tim spoiled me with some very thoughtful gifts . like a cookbook and oven mit because I ALWAYS burn my hands when cooking. ( freaky actually, it never fails )
I have packed all my Christmas stuff away actually. WE dont have alot of decorations so it wasnt too big of task. But Haven is sure going to miss her snowmen. whenever she would catch those in her eyes from across the room she would get sooo excited, it was sooo funny. I never have seen her get so excited about something. Then if you actually let her touch them she just looked like she was sooo privilaged. It was pretty cute.
