knock knock...

is anybody there? probably not, but I will post anyways, since it has been 2 months!
I just can't handle how slow the internet at my moms house is, but hey it is free for us so I guess I can't complain...but I do. :)
Tim and I are still working at Ruby's Inn. It is so slow it is such a bore! But it gives me some free time to read some books and Ensign articles I have been meaning to catch up on. Nothing exciting ever really happens there. You occasionally get a grumpy person, and I tell them how it is in the nicest way possible just to piss them off more. It's funny how cheap people are when they are rich, but anyways, nothing exciting.
We are loving the fact that it has been a mild winter so far and in fact a few nice days where we can actually go outside and enjoy the sun!
Our kids are doing well. Some days they still say they wish they lived in Montana, because they aren't happy with something. Usually a punishment or something isn't going the way they want. But they are adjusting. Carter loves school. Which is a 180 from last year, he hated school in MT.
I think once we have been in Utah for a few years it will start becoming home to them too.
We are on the right track to where we want to be in the future but still have a way to go. We still need to start a carpet cleaning buisness and sale our house in Montana!
I miss big city conveniences but am learning some important lessons about being more prepared and self sufficient.

Kanab adventures

We went to Kanab last week for my brother David's son Luke's 3rd birthday.

We wanted to hike up to the "K" on the hill by their house. WE look off in the distance in the other direction and see this misty rain falling on the rocks making them shine, it was pretty. The skies were blue so we weren't sure where that storm cloud had come from but thought it was isolated to that area several miles away. So we start hiking and we get halfway up that hill and I hear a noise that sounds like running water. I look around and see nothing, so on we go. Then I hear the noise getting louder and realize it is that "misty" stormcloud that has been disquised in the blue sky somehow coming over to mist the heck out of us. We started running down the hill. Jaxton refused to be carried and ran down the steep hill himself. This is what happened to him:

He totally biffed it and wasn't able to catch himself so got a face full of dirt. We got soaked. IT was fun though.

Carter and LUke's older brother EAston are best buds. They are silly boys.

Carter turns 8

I am not sure what Happened I went to post this and it had no words just pictures that took 1 hour to upload! ahhh. So this will be short because I am getting a migrane looking at the computer so long today.
Completely out of order. After Carters Baptism we went up to Bryce Canyon to show Tim's family. Then went swimming at Ruby's, as you can tell by Haven's swim suit.
Carter has developed the inability to smile on demand, it just looks painful now.
But that is a boy that has the Gift of the HOly Ghost just fresh... so He looks amazing to me even with the distracted eyes and smile.

Baptism and Confirmation was done by Tim. Its amazing how when its your first child getting baptized, baptism takes on a whole new meaning. It's not just another thing mormons do, it's the first step on the road to an eternal family! We talked with Carter the past year and tried to prepare him and I made a scrapbook to help him remeber the feelings he had this day to help build his testimony. I asked him if he wanted to be baptized, never told him he had to.

Turning 8 also means Scouts! Carter wanted nothing to do with scouts but now that he has gone a few times he really enjoys it and looks forward to it. HIs second time going he got to make 'rockets'. They were using an air compressor to get them to go high, and taped rocks to the outside to make them come down better I guess. (p.s. this was done under several adults supervision) So I pull up to the school parking lot to watch Carters rocket and one kids rocket landed with a huge thunk right next to my van, so I decided to move to the side out of range. Well one of the teachers in the school unaware that rockets were falling like asteroids in the parking lot truck was there and sure enough my sons rocket hit the window of that truck!

It wasn't Carters fault but still I was embarrased for some reason.
