Carter turns 8

I am not sure what Happened I went to post this and it had no words just pictures that took 1 hour to upload! ahhh. So this will be short because I am getting a migrane looking at the computer so long today.
Completely out of order. After Carters Baptism we went up to Bryce Canyon to show Tim's family. Then went swimming at Ruby's, as you can tell by Haven's swim suit.
Carter has developed the inability to smile on demand, it just looks painful now.
But that is a boy that has the Gift of the HOly Ghost just fresh... so He looks amazing to me even with the distracted eyes and smile.

Baptism and Confirmation was done by Tim. Its amazing how when its your first child getting baptized, baptism takes on a whole new meaning. It's not just another thing mormons do, it's the first step on the road to an eternal family! We talked with Carter the past year and tried to prepare him and I made a scrapbook to help him remeber the feelings he had this day to help build his testimony. I asked him if he wanted to be baptized, never told him he had to.

Turning 8 also means Scouts! Carter wanted nothing to do with scouts but now that he has gone a few times he really enjoys it and looks forward to it. HIs second time going he got to make 'rockets'. They were using an air compressor to get them to go high, and taped rocks to the outside to make them come down better I guess. (p.s. this was done under several adults supervision) So I pull up to the school parking lot to watch Carters rocket and one kids rocket landed with a huge thunk right next to my van, so I decided to move to the side out of range. Well one of the teachers in the school unaware that rockets were falling like asteroids in the parking lot truck was there and sure enough my sons rocket hit the window of that truck!

It wasn't Carters fault but still I was embarrased for some reason.

Back to School

Today was Haven's first day of preschool. She could hardly stand waiting 2 weeks while Carter had started. We had to make a countdown. This morning when I woke her up to tell her I had a warm bath waiting for her she said " I was freezing like an ice cube last night!" Then while I was drying her hair she says " umm do we have time for this before school?" She is so cute, and I am glad she loves learning, hopefully school will come easy to her.

Carter technically started school 2 weeks ago but today was school picture day and he wanted a mohawk. So since I had the camera out I shot a few of him. He looks the same as he did on the first day of school. I was even giving him bully advice on the first day of school and he said " pretty sure the mohawk will make 'em step off."

Summer fun 5

So we have had a few torrential down pours which have caused a huge mud puddle on the side of my dads house, which my kids discoverd and had so much fun in.... I wasn't too happy but oh well it washed off. We love having Jasmine here, we feel like she belongs here, and it is hard to not see her every day! I love that the saying in my sisters house on the wall is in the background of this picture.

I wanted Haven's hair cut into a "bob" which I thought would be easier to style and look good without styling... well we didn't exactly get the bob I had in mind, and it is a lot shorter than I wanted. But the baby find split ends got cut off so hopefully it will grow in better. Good thing she is so girly and has so much personality in her face :)

Summer fun 4 camping

We have gone camping 2 times this summer. It sure is a lot of work for parents. So fun for the kids though I guess.
Haven kept saying she was trying to take a nap, because she really wanted to play in the tent. lolLaugh all you want and me painting my nails while camping, but may I ask you "why not?" It's a nice relaxing time when you are out camping, no kids bumping you, and you don't have to worry about spilling polish in your house. :)

I love sitting around a campfire talking, who doesn't?

It was pretty fun, the only thing is Tim forgot a jacket and beanie cap so his head got cold at night and couldn't sleep and was up at like 5 am trying to get warm by a fire. As he is sitting there freezing he looks across the way and hears a motorhome's heater kick on, it was torture. lol
