I got to go on a field trip with Carters school yesterday to the Museum of the Rockies. The past two weeks they have been learning all about bats. Making bat wings to wear and bat masks. They even had real bat food for the kids to try. Insects (black beans), frogs ( real frog legs), and fish (catfish). Carters teacher said he actually tried the frog legs. Mind you this is a kid who sometimes wont even eat chicken! :0 he said it was gross but he did try it.
So anyways, this museum was having a special bat cave/ learning section of the museum, that was just really cool. It had little caves the kids go hang upside down in, and pictures of all the bats in the world, and experiments of how much food a bat eats in one night, and what it is like to hear like a bat does.

The Museum also had a cool dinosour area. All the dinosours and information they learned about them in this exhibit were found here in Montana! These are actualy sizes! one is a rib bone that is the size of a human,..JUst one rib bone!! the diplodocus( long neck) was over 80 feet head to tail!!
Another part of the Museum had some of Montana's history and old artifacts. Here is an old "fire wagon" it was pulled by a few men running to a fire, cool huh?
Carter's school is awesome! we had a great time!
